Tomorrow's Warriors-Shirley TettehTOMORROW’S WARRIORS + MALMESBURY SCHOOL PROJECT
Tuesday 14 July | 7.00pm
MALMESBURY | Malmesbury Abbey

Thursday 23 July | 7.00pm
MALMESBURY | WOMAD Charlton Park

We can’t tell you how super sunny we feel to bring our funky jazz and Afrobeat sounds to summer festival crowds at Malmesbury, home to the hallowed stages of the most famous of all world music festivals: WOMAD! We’ll be there on the main stage to open the festival on 23 July with a full-on Womad Festival Logoextravaganza of music and dance created with 100 young people performing as part of the Malmesbury School Project.

This performance will showcase the amazing grooves created across a week-long initiative working with a bright young cast led by our inspirational TW faculty music leaders, Binker Golding (saxophones) and Ben Burrell (piano). They will be joined by future jazz giants from our Emerging Artists, including Femi Koleoso (drums), Shirley Tetteh (guitar), and Cherise Adams-Burnett (vocals) who will support the young people in each section. We’re looking forward with great excitement to what we know will be a fantastically fun project with the young people of Wiltshire, and to the premiere of this work on 14 July at the historic, and massively impressive venue that is Malmesbury Abbey. Roll on the summer!
