At Tomorrow’s Warriors, we take our responsibilities in supporting musical talent and communities very seriously. As Creative Producer of a sizeable programme of events, we must be mindful to prioritise the health of our young people, professional musicians and Music Leaders. So it is with great regret that in light of the current guidance from the government and Public Health England on the risks posed by coronavirus (COVID-19), we have suspended our Young Artist Development Programme at Southbank Centre until further notice.

We regret also to advise that our programme of live events over the coming weeks is now postponed, with some events being cancelled completely. If you have purchased tickets, please contact the relevant venue box office for updates and information about potential transfers/refunds. In the meantime, do keep checking back for specific updates on our rescheduled events on our website/newsletters.

We are monitoring the government and Public Health England guidance and will continue to act accordingly, as a result the Tomorrow’s Warriors office will now be closed until further notice, although all members of the team will be available remotely, in adherence to current guidance. We ask you all to check the regularly updated pages dedicated to ‘stay at home’ and NHS guidance.

We are very mindful that many freelancers rely on us and we aim to support you as much as possible. If you have any concerns or need updates relating to a current commitment with Tomorrow’s Warriors, please get in touch with us. Musicians can also check the Musicians Union website for further advice.

We thank you all for your patience, understanding and support at this time. Our thoughts are with all those whose lives and livelihoods are being negatively affected by Covid-19 and hope this unprecedented situation will pass quickly with minimum impact on all concerned.

Here are some words from TW’s Co-Founders Gary Crosby OBE & Janine Irons MBE:

“We hope you and your loved ones are managing to cope during these extraordinary times. In line with Government advice, TWHQ has now decamped and we are all working from home. All of our live events over the next three months have been cancelled, including all gigs and our national touring programme, The Reggae Ticket. We have suspended our learning programme until further notice. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but our guiding principle is, and always will be, the health and safety of our young people, musicians, audiences, all of whom make up our wider Warriors community. In the interim, we are working with our Music Leaders to transfer some of our programme online, incorporating appropriate safeguarding measures, so that our young musicians can remain motivated, and continue to access learning opportunities whilementored by their respective Music Leaders.

We are committed to supporting all members of our team through this crisis, whether employed or freelance, and are urgently assessing the short-term impact of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) shutdown and the extent to which it may compromise TW’s output in the long-term. Funders will not release funds for activities that are no longer taking place and so we face a significant, and potentially very serious loss of income over the next 3-12 months. We will do all we can to cushion the organisation and its people over the coming months but, in these difficult times, we will be increasingly reliant upon the kind and generous donations of our dedicated supporters.

We are both immensely proud of all the achievements of the Warriors community so far, and salute their solidarity during this crisis. Coronavirus (Covid-19) has clearly knocked us all sideways, but we are hopeful that together, with your help, we will weather this storm.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support at this time. Stay safe and well and, above all, in this period of isolation, stay in touch and look out for each other.

Warmest wishes from all at TW

Gary & Janine xxx
