Tomorrow’s Warriors is blown away by the support of our generous donors, who allowed us to reach our £100,000 #IAmWarrior target in under six months, after launching our appeal in late August. The £100,000 will enable us to keep offering a pioneering, comprehensive programme of learning and training which, in particular, champions and supports young people from the African diaspora, girls and those whose financial or other challenging circumstances would tend to lock them out of opportunities to pursue a career in the music industry. This will be especially significant as the music industry recovers from what was a very difficult year for all in 2020. It allows us to take a strong stride into 2021, which also marks our 30th anniversary as an organisation.

Our #IAmWarrior appeal really has been a team effort. We had Levitation Orchestra raise funds for us with their single ‘Wave Potentiality’. We had online record store Cold Cuts // Hot Wax make us their charity of the month in October and raise over £1,500. We had rising fashion designer Nicholas Daley donate to us from one of his t-shirt designs. We also had the support from some big personalities, including singer and radio host Cerys Matthews, DJ Gilles Peterson, author Nick Hornby, and of course our amazing alumni. We are so grateful that the community came together in support of our cause, to continue nurturing talented young jazz musicians.

From the bottom of our hearts, Tomorrow’s Warriors would like to thank every person who was able to donate to our appeal. Your donation will support the next generation of exceptionally talented musicians, and go towards creating a more diverse future for UK music. Your gift will help us to nurture their gift. YOU are Warrior!
