Many of our young musicians aged 11-15 begin their journey into jazz as a member of our Junior Warriors. Whilst all our Junior members will have opportunities to participate in public performances at various points throughout the year, those with more advanced skills may be invited to join our Junior Band.
As a member of our Junior Band, young musicians have an opportunity to work more intensively within a small ensemble, developing ensemble/soloing/band leading skills mentored by a professional jazz musician in our artistic team. Band members also have additional performance opportunities, for example in the Imagine Children’s Festival at Southbank Centre, in the Music For Youth Festival, and in a variety of community arts and music festivals.
Our Junior Band never fails to wow audiences with their confidence, skill and passion for jazz music. And, as these budding stars progress, they may be invited to join our Youth Warriors Development Group, one of our Youth Ensembles, and possibly the Tomorrow’s Warriors Youth Orchestra.
