Artist Development Manager
Part-time (3 days/wk)|Permanent|10am – 6pm (though working outside these is a requirement of the role)|Salary £30k – £33k pa (pro-rata) + generous benefits package
The role of Artist Development Manager is key to the work of Tomorrow’s Warriors in preparing young artists to become artists, music leaders and successful professionals in the music industry. The post-holder will take a proactive approach to manage the programme. This involves working with music leaders and the artistic director on course content, reviews of progress and regular evaluations. It will involve an overview of progression from registration, to new artists to emerging artists and alumni. The Artist Development Manager plays an important part in developing the content of our programmes and initiating projects that grow artists confidence as musicians. The post-holder will also work with internal colleagues and external partners creating new initiatives that advance further aspects of their musicianship and their ability to be role-models to others.
This is a key role within Tomorrow’s Warriors management structure. As Artist Development Manager, you will be at the helm of an exciting growth programme, ensuring that quality and the TW model of pedagogy are at the heart of all future developments.
You will need the ambition and confidence to contribute and implement strategies and programmes in support of the organisation’s vision and mission, and devise and deliver a high quality learning, development and engagement programme that increases the reach, impact and income of the Learning and Training team.
You will line manage a team of part-time/freelance operational staff including the Learning and Production Coordinator, music leaders and volunteers. Our Learning & Participation team currently includes our office-based team: Artist Development Manager (you) and the Learning & Production Coordinator (part-time), plus our core team of freelance artists/music leaders, and a small number of volunteers (e.g. parents, alumni). The office-based team works closely with our artistic, marketing, special projects and development leads.
The nature of our business and of the role is such that the incumbent will be required to attend meetings and events all over the UK (and potentially overseas) which will include some evening, weekend and/or bank holiday working.
The successful applicant will be based at our offices in Harrow, NW London. Our nearest station is Harrow & Wealdstone – 14 mins on the fast train from London Euston mainline, plus good connections with Clapham/Willesden/Watford Junctions. The Bakerloo tube line also terminates here.
