Coleridge

It’s Coleridge Goode’s 97th birthday today! The legendary double bassist, renown for his long association with Joe Harriott and performing and recording with Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, was born on 29 November 1914. He came to the UK from Jamaica in 1934 and has been a major influence on the development of British Jazz. Coleridge is pictured here in a ‘our history – our future’ shot with (L-R): double bassist Alex Davis, drummer Moses Boyd and alto saxophonist Tyrone Isaac-Stewart.
