On 6 October 2012, Tomorrow’s Warriors hosted an Open Day to introduce its new and improved Young Artist Development Programme as part of our ongoing Tomorrow’s Warriors at Southbank Centre residency. Thanks to generous funding from Youth Music, we have been able to expand and extend our offer to our young musicians and music leaders, all of whom will benefit from some fantastic professional development over the next year.

Founder and Artistic Director, Gary Crosby OBE has put together a carefully selected team of music leaders who form the core of our new faculty. They will support Gary in mentoring and developing a new generation of exceptional young jazz musicians. All are former members of Tomorrow’s Warriors and know and understand the challenges faced by young musicians, what it means to be a Tomorrow’s Warrior, and the responsibilities that come with it, so they will be able to pass on the Warriors legacy to our young musicians, directly and authentically.

Additionally, we are augmenting the faculty with a range of inspirational guest artists who will deliver special masterclasses exclusively for members of Tomorrow’s Warriors.

Tomorrow’s Warriors is also now able to offer Arts Award as part of its programme and we’re delighted to report that our first cohort of Junior Warriors is on target to achieve their Bronze awards early in 2013. Members of our Youth Warriors will begin working towards their Silver Award in the New Year.

And last, but by no means least, we’ll be able to support all of our ensembles by securing a range of high quality performance opportunities over the year.
