How about a relaxed afternoon with your friends and family taking in a cool jazz jam in a wonderful family run art-café just a stone’s throw from London’s Southbank (nearest tube: Southwark)? Admission is free though this is absolutely no reflection of the quality of the music, the food, the venue or the vibe. In fact, you’re in for a real treat!

Check out this little trailer we made about the brand new jam session at Nolias 11 led by a group of hip young musicians from the extended Tomorrow’s Warriors jazz family.

Pianist Charlie Stacey put together the stellar band seen in the video for last Sunday’s session and had everyone whooping and catching their breath, such was the energy on the stage. This Sunday we have our all-female band, Nérija leading the jam – a superb bunch of fabulously talented young women who will be stepping  onto the stage ready to do business!

According to trumpeter, Sheila Maurice-Grey, “Nérija disembodies the theory that though girls may start playing jazz at the same time as their male counterparts, they do not necessarily develop at the same rate.”

Well, you’ll have to come along on Sunday to see if she’s right! Remember, if you have children, you can bring them along too! It’s never too early to get them into the swing of  jazz music, though let’s hope Monday’s headlines read something along the lines of…No male jazz musicians were disembodied in the making of this jam! 😉

Seriously, though, Nérija are fantastic young musicians and we’re certain you’ll be big fans before the day is out!

See you there!
