Tomorrow’s Warriors Extraordinary Showcase
Friday 6 February | 5.30pm | £FREE
LONDON The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall
With excellence at its core, after our first full year of producing our new and transformative Young Artist Development Programme, we welcome you to the Southbank Centre this Friday, to celebrate the amazing creativity and commitment these young talented people and their Music Leaders are making through their music.
Do come along to groove at The Front Room for our annual Extraordinary Showcase: it’s our young musicians’ chance to light up the Southbank with their energy and enthusiasm – just what we need to ward off the winter blues! It’s the perfect tonic and it’s on a Friday too.
Our acclaimed Artistic Director Gary Crosby OBE is really looking forward to seeing the place swing and wants to give the young musicians every chance to shine through.
Headlined by our famous big band, Tomorrow’s Warriors Youth Orchestra and featuring performances our development bands, Junior Warriors and the Female Collective, you can expect to hear classics by composer Oliver Nelson, as well as Basie, Monk and The Crusaders, together with original compositions developed through the programme.
As you will also know if you’ve been to our gigs in past – this will be performed with the special youthful verve and vibe that only Tomorrow’s Warriors’ way of communicating jazz can bring – a totally unforgettable live jazz experience. So do join us on Friday 6 February to celebrate with us on the incredibly progressive our young musicians have been undertaking.
The showcase is one of our £FREE gigs – but make sure that you can get in – you will need to come and claim your seat early on – as we always ‘sell out’ with standing room only.
