We are thrilled to announce the return of the Tomorrow’s Warriors’ famed Jazz Jam Session, which relaunches this weekend:
Saturday 20 February | 1.00pm-4.00pm
Rich Mix (Main Space)
35-47 Bethnal Green Road
London E1 6LA
Box Office: 020 7613 7498
So many of the outstanding jazz artists in the UK who have gone on to achieve great things cut their teeth at the Tomorrow’s Warriors jam sessions that started out at the Jazz Cafe, Camden back in the early 1990s; then we took it to the Rhythmic in Islington; then back to the Jazz Cafe; then on to the Spice Of Life in the heart of London’s Soho before we moved our core programme to Southbank Centre. Wow! A lot of musicians passed through over the years and we think all will agree that the jam session is generally one of the most exciting (albeit a tiny bit daunting!) places for budding jazz musicians as they can flex their jazz muscles in the company of their peers, and really get down to the nitty gritty of the music. It’s also an exciting place for audiences as they get to hear some of the best (and, thankfully, just occasionally, the worst!) jazz on the planet! It’s a beautiful thing and a great place to be!
Now, we can’t guarantee that the odd wannabe whose mum say’s they sound great when they sing in the bath won’t turn up (just kidding!), but we can guarantee there will be some exceptional talent on show, not least with our brand new Tomorrow’s Warriors House Band featuring:
Charlie Stacey (piano)
Cherise Coryna (vocals)
Cassie Kinoshi (alto sax)
Rio Kai (double bass)
Patrick Boyle (drums)
So, do try to come to one or more of the jams. We’re pretty certain you won’t be disappointed! Plus, it’s £FREE! So what’s not to like?!

Initially the dates may look a little bit random. They’re not actually – it’s essentially the third Saturday each month, except May (first Saturday) and June (no session). That’s the venue trying to keep you on your toes, so do check out the dates. See you there!
