The Jazz Salon 141016Gary Crosby is looking forward to co-hosting a special edition of The Jazz Salon tomorrow (Fri 14 Oct) at Southbank Centre, London as part of this year’s London Literature Festival. Hope you can check it out. He’ll be contributing music with our Jazz Salon House Band and joining in the conversation which is all about:

UNCERTAIN FUTURE: IMPROVISATION

Stars of jazz, grime and spoken word join us to discuss and celebrate the bleeding edge of literature.

The Jazz Salon host, journalist and broadcaster, Kevin Le Gendre, heads up this conversation featuring author and academic Paul Gilroy; poet, MC, teacher and musician Joshua Idehen; and poet, writer and director Kayo Chingonyi.

In his 1993 book, Gilroy demonstrates The Black Atlantic as a space of transnational cultural construction. We ask if improvisation holds the key to understanding the flow of culture, music and ideas before they become literature

Friday 14 October | 5.30pm | £FREE | Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall
