Immerse yourselves in song and dance with a morning of interactive performances, music and movement games celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean. Led by Tomorrow’s Warriors Artistic Director and Jazz Jamaica band leader, Gary Crosby with Cherise Adams-Burnett and some special guest musicians, Mango Spice will take you on journey to the beautiful island of Jamaica and back again, where you’ll learn call-and-response games and ring dances, and discover the stories behind the rhythms, words and movements of calypso, reggae and traditional folk song. Great fun and brilliant edutainment for children and the young at heart!
What to expect
Come along ready to move about and get involved! A 45-minute participatory workshop suitable for all ages and all abilities designed for children and young people to join in and have fun with their siblings, parents, carers, grandparents, even their great-grandparents! Suitable for all ages, from 1-100! But particularly children and young people, age 3-14 years of age.
The workshop will be followed by a short performance by the workshop leaders, and all participants are invited to stay on to see the jazz jam session in the afternoon.
Comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. No experience necessary. Come along…it’s £FREE!
