Three generous people have donated instruments to Tomorrow’s Warriors.
Much sought-after reeds player, Alam Nathoo, who plays in Jazz Jamaica All Stars and Nu Civilisation Orchestra, kindly donated his first tenor saxophone.
Stalwart supporter Howard Lawes won a beautiful Fibonacci jazz guitar in a competition organised by musician and promoter, Nigel Price, but they decided instead to offer it to Tomorrow’s Warriors.
Music lover Will Damazer donated a Fender Jazz bass guitar and a guitar amp after attending an Ezra Collective gig at Islington Academy. He was moved by Femi Koleoso’s passionate telling of how Tomorrow’s Warriors had given him crucial support and opportunity as a young musician and helped him to grow into the pro he is today.
These donations are so useful, as they will go to participants on our programme and give young people access to more instruments. Watch out for pictures of these instruments in action. We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our kind donors!
If you have a beloved musical instrument in good condition that you’d like to find a good home for, where it will be looked after, loved again and potentially help a future star of jazz, do get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
