Tomorrow’s Warriors Co-Founder Janine Irons received her OBE from The Princess Royal at the investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 31st January 2024.
“It was an honour to receive this OBE from The Princess Royal for Services to the Music Industry.
This honour is not just for me, but also for the organisation I co-founded with Gary Crosby OBE over three decades ago. It has been incredible to witness the musical journeys of so many amazingly talented young people who make up the Tomorrow’s Warriors family.
It’s crucial to recognise that our journey is far from over. There is still much work to be done to improve access to music education and career development for so many talented young Black musicians, women and those from challenging socio-economic backgrounds. Our free development programme is at the heart of everything Tomorrow’s Warriors does to help create these opportunities.
If it takes a village to raise a child, then similarly it takes a community invested in young people, diversity, and equality to drive change for those who need support and representation the most.
I’m proud to receive this honour on behalf of Tomorrow’s Warriors, and to be part of a growing body of organisations committed to making sustainable change for our young people. Together, we can ensure our ‘village’ will be there to support future jazz generations.” Janine Irons OBE

Many congratulations Janine and so well deserved. Best wishes to the whole TW village.
