Fantastic news…Tomorrow’s Warriors are through to the final of the Groups category in the Mayor of London’s Big Busk Competition to be held on Saturday 1 September at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush, W12) between 12 noon-5.30pm. For the ‘heats’, Tomorrow’s Warriors performed in Hyde Park during the London 2012 Olympics and, thanks to a mix of strong public voting and final judges decision, our young musicians are now in the running to compete for the prize of studio recording time and professional artist mentoring.
Comprising members of Tomorrow’s Warriors’ award-winning Yamaha 2012 ensemble, all band members are part of our acclaimed Young Artist Development Programme hosted every weekend as part of our ongoing Southbank Centre residency.
Having made it through the Hyde Park busk gigs, band member Femi Koleoso (17, drums) is excited about the opportunities ahead. “It’s a great opportunity and I really enjoyed the experience of playing the gig in Hyde Park. To get to the final is a massive honour. Our achievement is testament to the hard work we put in as a band and I’m really delighted we are beginning to see success as a group. I look forward to what’s in store for us as a collective in the future!”
Tomorrow’s Warriors will be on stage around 3.45pm. Please come along to support our young Warriors on Saturday 1st September at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush, W12). Click here for directions to Westfield.
