A day for young and emerging creative professionals and artists active in jazz and related fields of music curated by this year’s cohort of producers and programmers from the Young & Serious programme and Tomorrow’s Warriors.
12.30pm-3.30pm – Presenting five hours of workshops, keynote presentations and break-out sessions programmed by Young & Serious producers/ programmers specifically for early-career professionals currently working in or seeking to build a presence in the music and creative industries, this event will be an opportunity to grow your network, share ideas, discuss the future of jazz as a changing artform and add to your professional skillset.
3.30pm-4.00pm / 6.30pm-10.00pm Rounding off the day will be a series of performances from some of London’s most exciting and progressive young jazz talent, led by Tomorrow’s Warriors. The show will open with the jazz string ensemble, Tomorrow’s Warriors StringTing who will be premiering their arrangement of Extensions originally performed by Max Roach’s Uptown Swing Quartet, alongside an exciting repertoire of jazz classics. Also on the bill are the Tomorrow’s Warriors House Band – who hold a monthly residency at Rich Mix and will host a jazz jam, and some very special performances with Warrior alumna Shirley Tetteh, plus singer/poet Floetic Lara and DJ Ifeoluwa.
