Tomorrow’s Warriors returns to their spiritual home at the Jazz Cafe for I AM WARRIOR, celebrating new jazz collaborations with performances featuring award-winning alumni and the next generation of exciting young jazz talent.

This year’s special guest composers are Joe Armon-Jones, award-winning bassist Daniel Casimir (Jazz FM Instrumentalist of the Year), drummer Rod Youngs (Gil Scott-Heron), tenor saxophonist Maddy Coombs, and alto saxophonist Donovan Haffner (Moses Boyd and Kamaal Williams).

Tomorrow’s Warriors Soon Come Ensemble, featuring some of the best emerging Warrior jazz musicians, will be joined on stage by each of the special guests in turn to perform their new composition.

Overseeing the evening will be Musical Director Binker Golding and our Host/MC, ESKA.

Janine Irons OBE, co-founder & CEO of Tomorrow’s Warriors explains how important a date this is in our calendar: “In what is our 32nd year, we are really proud and delighted to return with I AM WARRIOR to our spiritual home the Jazz Café, to celebrate once again with multiple generations of our Warrior musicians.

Every year, we commission our alumni to compose new works and join our young musicians on stage at the Jazz Café, so we are delighted to premiere the compositions of Joe, Maddy, Daniel, Rod and Donovan. And, it’s a big THANK YOU to PPL for the funding that has made these commissions possible.

We are also excited to launch our IAMWARRIOR Appeal with more to be revealed on the night on how you can support us to keep doing what we do, to make a difference to the next generation of talent and keen the scene fresh, diverse and exciting!

So get your tickets for an uplifting evening of the finest of the UK jazz scene, while also helping to keep our much needed education programmes free to the next generation.”
